SheetRender in ChatGPT and Claude

Give the assistant your rows and say which document you want. It lists the templates, matches your columns to the template’s fields, and renders one PDF per row. The SheetRender view in the conversation shows a preview of each document with a PDF button, the number of documents left this month, and a button to continue on the SheetRender website with the same rows.

The four templates

• Certificate of completion (A4 landscape)

  Needs: recipient name, course, completion date. Optional: issued by, signer name, signer title.

• Letter (A4 portrait)

  Needs: recipient name, letter text. Optional: date, sender name, sender title, two address lines, subject.

• Donation receipt (US Letter)

  Needs: donor name, amount, date received. Optional: receipt number, organisation, organisation address, tax ID, notes.

• Job offer letter (US Letter)

  Needs: candidate name, role, start date. Optional: salary, manager name, company, candidate address, reply-by date.

A row with a missing required field still renders, with that part left blank, and the reply lists it so you can fix it. The template designs are fixed: SheetRender in ChatGPT and Claude does not accept HTML, logos or images. Each PDF has a small “Made with SheetRender” line at the foot of the page.

The three tools

list_document_templates

Lists the four templates and their fields. It reads only and changes nothing.

render_documents

Fills one template with up to 25 rows and returns a preview image and a PDF link for each row.

create_continue_link

Creates a link to the template’s page on sheetrender.com with your rows loaded. The assistant calls it only when you ask to keep the rows or continue on the website.

Once SheetRender is listed in ChatGPT’s directory, find it there by name and connect it. No sign-in is asked for.

Until then, you can add it yourself in developer mode:

1. Turn on developer mode in ChatGPT’s settings.
2. Create a new app with the server URL https://mcp.sheetrender.com/mcp.
3. Set authentication to none, then save.
4. In a new chat, select SheetRender and try one of the example prompts below.

Once SheetRender is listed in Claude’s connector directory, find it there by name and connect it. No sign-in is asked for.

Until then, add it as a custom connector:

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
2. Choose Add custom connector and enter the URL https://mcp.sheetrender.com/mcp.
3. Leave the authentication settings empty and add the connector. There is nothing to sign in to.
4. Start a new conversation and try one of the example prompts below.

Each prompt carries its own sample rows, so it shows a result straight away.

• Make certificates of completion for Ana Ruiz and Ben Okafor: Forklift Safety, finished 2026-09-12.
• Create donation receipts: Maria Lopez gave $250 on 2026-08-03 and David Chen gave $75 on 2026-08-17.
• Write a letter to Priya Nair and Tom Becker saying their club membership renews on 1 November.

To keep the rows after rendering, ask: “Keep these rows in SheetRender so I can reuse them.” The assistant then creates a continue link.

• Up to 25 rows per render request, and up to 100 rows per continue link.
• Up to 50 documents each calendar month (UTC) for each ChatGPT user, Claude conversation, or, when neither applies, internet connection. Each reply says how many documents remain, or that a shared limit applies, and when the count resets.
• Claude does not tell SheetRender who its users are, so all Claude conversations together also share 3,000 documents a month. If those run out, the reply says the shared limit is used and the date it resets (the 1st of the next month, UTC), and you can take your rows to the SheetRender website with a continue link instead.
• Preview and PDF links stop working after one hour, so download the PDFs you want to keep.
• A continue link lasts 7 days. Its rows are kept until they are loaded into a SheetRender project or for 7 days, whichever comes first. Loading them into a project needs a SheetRender account.

• SheetRender receives only what the assistant sends in a request: the template and your rows. It does not receive your conversation, your name or your email address.
• Your rows are used only to fill the template you chose. They are not saved in SheetRender’s database and are not sent to any AI model. Preview and PDF links stop working after one hour, and the files are deleted within about two and a half hours.
• Rows saved for a continue link are deleted after 7 days if they are not loaded.
• Your conversation itself is handled by OpenAI or Anthropic under their own privacy policies.
